The Cisco UCS Compute Systems Product Group (CSPG) is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Senior Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) to drive Networking and Fabric innovations into Cisco’s Data Center business for UCS and HyperFlex. These solutions enable our customers to streamline their compute deployment models and achieve new levels of operational efficiency with consistent compute, network and storage policies.

CSPG is a global organization with over 300 employees spanning the Development, QA, TME, Product management and engineering organizations. CSPG continues to redefine infrastructure management in revolutionary and intuitive ways, beyond the traditional data center norms.Next-generation fabrics and management will set the standard for emerging applications and scale while connecting highly complex data centers with IT-as-a- Service (ITaaS).

 

What You’ll Do

As a member of Cisco’s Technical Marketing Engineering Team, you will have an opportunity to optimize the latest infrastructure hardware and software on top of the market-leading Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS). As a data center expert, you will drive networking innovation, work with our largest customers, and create the requirements that continue to set Cisco compute solutions apart from the competition.

Responsibilities Include

As a Cisco UCS expert, you will support Networking developments, integrations, escalations and PM/engineering feedback on compute solutions. Working with external and internal partners and engineering, you will drive understanding of customer requirements and propose innovative solutions and architectures. With a strong understanding of data center networking implementation, you will Own UCS networking and fabric efforts, quality focus and general customer support. This role will develop documentation for both engineering, product management and customer facing audiences. Role also includes the following

  • Drive Networking and Fabric innovation across business units and partnerships, building on a strong foundation of data center experience.
  • Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for sales opportunities that involve converged infrastructure, management and automation, including integration with certain select 3rd party products.
  • Creation of collateral including technical requirements, test plans, technical presentations, white papers, design guides and implementation guides to address product management and marketing requirements

Who You Are

 

Seeking candidates with 10+ years of networking industry experience with Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Computer Science / Information system. Must be a self-starter and a team member. Experience in LAN/SAN networking, storage fabrics and compute connectivity with various configurations; Experience in end-to-end compute solutions engineering is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience designing and implementing data center Networking/NIC/Fabric solutions and standards
  • Knowledgeable in data center networking architectures & protocols Ethernet/FCoE/Nexus/MDS/FEX
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated communications skills and experience developing presentations, whitepapers, and architectural documents

Desired Skills

  • Cisco CCIE Certification
  • Data center software automation and orchestration
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS)
  • Implementation of Compute, Networking and Storage installations, architectures and implementation
  • Knowledge of VMware, Microsoft, DevOps, SDK, advanced systems management
  • Experience in application deployment architecture
  • Field technical sales experience, working as a Systems Engineer or equivalent
