Front End Engineer, Android

Description

The Transportation & Recipient Experience Design Studio (TRX) is a multidisciplinary team in Amazon Operations responsible for the design of many exciting products in the transportation and delivery space. Teams of designers, technologists, writers, researchers, and program managers work collaboratively in our studios to create the next generation of experiences for Amazon customers.

In this role, you’ll be able to innovate, deliver, and influence. You should have a demonstrable track record of success delivering high-quality front-end Android mobile code at scale. You should possess strong front-end skills and in-depth knowledge of web protocols and technologies (HTTP/REST/JSON).

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience as a front-end engineer
• 2+ years of current experience working with Android internals
• Good knowledge of design patterns, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and front-end development best practices
• Proficient with Java and/or Kotlin developing multi-threaded mobile applications for Android
• Experience shipping consumer mobile applications (on Android)
• Knowledge and experience using Espresso and Crashlytics
• Strong development and debugging skills using Java in environment
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration
