Responsibilities

  • Lead and own test plan definition for new products and new features, in collaboration with firmware, software, and hardware design teams.
  • Determine energy product test strategies that optimize: Product safety, product reliability, risk mitigation, FMEA coverage, test team resources, and schedule.
  • Lead collaboration with multi-layered validation teams, to ensure total product performance is covered and validation/integration gaps are eliminated.
  • Design and execution of product level testing including hands on testing with real hardware
  • Data analysis and clear communication of results (including executive presenations) and collaboration with design engineers to resolve any product problems found via test
  • Designing and implementing next generation test hardware systems to facilitate fast and repeatable testing of product
  • Automated test sequence and analysis development in Python

Requirements

  • Bacheolors, masters or PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Python or Matlab (for automated regression, data analysis, and scripting).
  • Experience with hands-on electrical engineering work.
  • Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability.
  • 2+ years of experience working on design, integration or testing of an electromechanical, firmware/software controlled product.
  • Working understanding of how grid-tied storage systems function and interact with the grid.
  • Experience with renewable energy products and/or electricity distribution systems.
  • Experience working with high power (50kW+) and/or high voltage (1kVDC, 480VAC) products.
